A number of students at Government Law College (GLC), Mumbai, are expressing concerns about the concurrent conduct of online and offline classes, fearing it may negatively impact their learning experience. Some students, who visited the Churchgate campus on Wednesday, expressed dissatisfaction with the concept of “hybrid classrooms” and plan to write to the administration alongside faculty members, urging the institution to transition to fully offline classes.
Despite the University of Mumbai’s announcement of offline exams, the students claim that there was no official communication from the college for several days. Upon visiting the campus, they discovered professors conducting online lectures. A second-year student mentioned that friends requiring hostel accommodation were awaiting an official announcement to apply for the same.
A faculty member, requesting anonymity, explained that without a hybrid learning model, it’s challenging to offer lectures in both offline and online formats. They observed students coming to the college only to return home and attend classes online.
GLC Principal Asmita Vaidya responded, stating that offline classes have commenced, with students attending physically or online based on their preference.
